(Jupiter, FL) June ##, 2008 – The Maltz Jupiter Theatre Conservatory of Performing Arts (COPA) students will present their rendition of the everlasting childhood story of Peter Pan, the Musical on Friday, July 25 and Saturday, July 26.  Eighty students enrolled in the Junior Summer Conservatory ages 8 – 13 will sing, dance and act in this classic musical.  During the three week camp, all eighty students must audition, learn the songs and dances of the musical, and finally perform to a public audience on the Maltz Jupiter Theatre’s professional stage. At the same time, these same eighty students will learn backstage skills such as building and painting the set and scenery.

Judy Gelman, Director of Education at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre and Director and Choreographer of Peter Pan, the Musical says, “My first trip to see live theatre was to Peter Pan and hooked me for life!  My dad took me to see the musical when I was five years old and I will never forget the experience.”  Gelman chose Peter Pan, the Musical in order to get the campers excited about theatre and performance.  “With such a large cast to work with, this musical requires a lot of interaction amongst performers so they can learn the meaning of ensemble work,” says Gelman.

Peter Pan is the tale that never ages just like the characters involved in the story.  This heart-felt story about Neverland and its magical world includes such recognized songs as “I’m Flying”, “Neverland”, “I won’t grow up” and many more!

Showtimes are 7:30 pm on both evenings. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students under 18 and are available at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre Box Office, online at www.jupitertheatre.org or by phone at 561-575-2223 or 800-445-1666.

The Maltz Jupiter Theatre opened in February 2004 as a 550-seat, not-for-profit regional theatre at the former Burt Reynolds Dinner Theatre location. The Theatre is a member of the prestigious League of Resident Theatres. The Maltz Jupiter Theatre is located east of U.S. Highway 1 at 1001 East Indiantown Road and State Road A1A in Jupiter.
