Additional Limited Engagements Added to Maltz Jupiter Theatre Fifth Anniversary Season Prestigious International String Quartet Series Added (Jupiter, FL) November 7, 2007 - The star-studded limited engagement lineup for the Maltz Jupiter Theatre's Fifth Anniversary season is expanding with the addition of seven new shows that have just been announced including a new International String Quartet Series, a couple of tribute shows to some of the greatest entertainers of all times, the return of the Spy Series and dynamic performances by South Florida's best entertainers. The highlight of the season is the addition of the International String Quartet Series which kicks off on Monday, December 3 with Israel Philharmonic Orchestra String Quartet comprised of premiere musicians from the world famous orchestra including Peter Otto, First Associate Concertmaster; Stephen Rose, Principal Second Violin; Robert Vernon, Principal Viola and Desmond Hoebig, Principal Cello playing the classics Tchaikovsky Quartet No. 2 and Borodin Quartet No. 2. The next in the series is one of the most revered symphonic ensembles in the world - The Cleveland Orchestra Chamber Players. Start the new-year off enjoying the sounds of Mozart, Puccini, Turina and Beethoven on Sunday, January 27. Rounding out the Quartet Series is the Attacca String Quartet on Monday, March 3. Formed at the Juilliard School this quartet distinguishes itself with its enchanting ensemble, performing Dvorak, Shostakovich, and Debussy. Showtime for all three rare and intimate classic performances is 7:30 pm; tickets are only $50 or $200 for the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra String Quartet benefit reception which includes orchestra seats. Tuesday, January 8 at 2 pm and 7:30 pm - Chris MacDonald's Memories of Elvis in Concert. One of the best Elvis tribute artists returns to the theatre's stage with two shows celebrating the King's birthday! Hear Elvis' greatest hits performed by Chris MacDonald. Tickets for Memories of Elvis are $32 for the 2 pm show and $40 for the 7:30 pm performance.
Saturday, January 12 at 8 pm - A Tribute to the Rat Pack Live on Stage - A Maltz Jupiter Theatre Guild Benefit for the Conservatory of the Performing Arts. Take a trip back in time to the unforgettable days of hip and cool! Relive the good times and great tunes through the stunning portrayals of the Rat Pack themselves - Martin, Sinatra and Davis! This production provides a great tribute to the legendary musicians and an electric evening of top-notch entertainment. Tickets are $40 for orchestra seating and $35 for the mezzanine. Monday, March 10 at 7:30 pm - St. John's Greek Orthodox of Martin County presents An Evening with Constantinos Jaferis and Friends. Constantinos Jaferis is a Greek born composer, classical guitarist and luthier (guitar maker and designer). Enjoy an evening of classical guitar from the great European and American composers. Tickets are $35 for orchestra seating and $30 for the mezzanine.
Wednesday, March 19 at 8 pm - St. Lucie Chorale International Concert - The St. Lucie Chorale and Konzertchor 73 will perform an encore of their concert given in Dusseldorf, Germany this past March to a sold out house and rave reviews! The l00 singers along with 4 soloists will be accompanied by a full orchestra in a performance of Rossini's Stabet Mater an oratorio, or opera without costumes or scenery. The concert will open with The Waldrom Requiem, composed by Dr. Allen Rosenberg, Artistic Director of the St. Lucie Chorale. Dr. Rosenberg will conduct the piece while Josef Waggin, Director of Konzertchor 73 will have command of the organ. Tickets are $30 for orchestra seating and $25 for the mezzanine. Sunday, April 6 at 7 pm - International Spy Series: SYRIANNA. Watch the Academy Award® winning film, Syriana produced by and starring George Clooney, and then hear from Robert Baer, the CIA operative whose exploits inspired the story. Moderated by Peter Earnest, from the International Spy Museum. An evening of intrigue and international scandal you won't want to miss. Tickets are $25.
