For Immediate ReleaseDrop Everything for the Maltz Jupiter Theatre's Production of The Full MontyJupiter, FL - (February 13, 2008) Following a successful three-week sold-out run of the hugely popular Smokey Joe's Café, The Full Monty comes roaring onto the Maltz Jupiter Theatre stage Tuesday, February 26 - March 16. The Maltz Jupiter Theatre production will star Broadway legend Mimi Hines, who is best known for her break-out role in Funny Girl, immediately following Barbara Streisand and introduces Alexander Dreyfoos School of the Arts freshman Philip Labes making his professional theatrical debut. Directed by Alan Souza with choreography by Ron De Jesus and musical direction by the multiple Carbonell nominee Helen Gregory, this production will have the largest character driven casts ever presented on Maltz Jupiter Theatre stage.
The Full Monty, is based on the independent British film that was nominated for three major Academy® Awards in 1998. Tony-winning author Terrence McNally (Master Class) wrote the book with score and lyrics by David Yazbek (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels). The team decided to set the show in Buffalo, New York, which shares many of the same working class characteristics as England, where the movie was set. Join six buddies, whose plan to get their lives back together requires them to triumph over their fears, their nerves and even their clothes! The Full Monty is a mix of razor-sharp humor and toe-tapping pizzazz. This production contains adult subject matter with strong language and brief nudity. The Full Monty, presented by Downtown and the Gardens runs February 26 - March 16. Showtimes are Tuesday through Friday at 7:30 pm; Saturday at 8 pm; Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 2 pm. The Maltz Jupiter Theatre opened in February 2004 as a 550-seat, nonprofit community-based regional theater in the former Burt Reynolds Dinner Theatre.
