(Jupiter, FL) - August 23, 2007 - Milton Maltz, chairman of the Maltz Jupiter Theatre, announced today that Murray J. Green has been appointed Managing Director. In this capacity he will oversee the day to day operations of the 550-seat theatre and the new Conservatory of the Performing Arts.

"Murray Green brings a wealth of management experience to the theatre, and it is fitting that the board has selected him to lead the theatre and the conservatory through the next phase of its continuing growth."

Green came to Florida in 1982 to build and manage WFLX-TV for the Malrite Communications Group. He served as vice-president and general manager of the Fox affiliate for 18 years. While at WFLX, Green served six years on the Fox Affiliate Board of Governors and the final two years he served as chairman. From 1991 to 2005, his popular "Afterthought" commentaries were seen at the end of the WFLX ten o'clock news. He concluded his career in broadcasting as senior vice-president for television of the multi-station Malrite Group.

For the past five years he served on the board of the Executive Service Corps of Southeast Florida and the Center for Nonprofit Excellence. He has also been active as a marketing advisor to the Maltz Jupiter Theatre. In more than 25 years in the area, Green has served on a wide variety of civic and cultural boards and committees. He is a 1986 graduate of Leadership Palm Beach County. Green is a graduate of Syracuse University with a degree in Political Science and Broadcasting. He has two grown children and he and his wife reside in West Palm Beach.

"What a great choice! I am looking forward to working with Murray on our common goal of building the theatre into one of America's top theatrical institutions," said Andrew Kato, Artistic Director.

The Maltz Jupiter Theatre opened in February 2004 as a 550-seat, nonprofit community-based regional theater in the former Burt Reynolds Dinner Theatre. The new Conservatory of the Performing Arts will open in September, which will offer a full theatrical curriculum to students and adults. The theater is a member of the prestigious League of Resident Theatres. The Maltz Jupiter Theatre is located at 1001 E. Indiantown Road and State Road A1A in Jupiter.
