New Summer Shows

Jupiter, Florida (May 4, 2006) - The Maltz Jupiter Theatre is proud to announce two new shows to their eclectic line up for the summer season: Rockers Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers (RCPM) on June 17th, Steve Solomon's My Sister's an Only Child on July 8 and Symphony of the Americas - Summerfest 2006 on July 19.

Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers (RCPM) is a searing rock & roll foursome nursed by the desert air of their Arizona home base. Frontman Roger Clyne is also well-known as singer/songwriter for The Refreshments, a late-90s rock band whose cult-classic album Fizzy Fuzzy, Big & Buzzy produced the hit singles Banditos and Down Together.  The band's 2004 album, ¡Americano! debuted in the top 20 of six Billboard charts, including two #1 entries and is a satellite radio favorite.  Showtime is at 8 pm and tickets are $18.

Steve Solomon is the creator of the hit comedy show "My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish & I'm in Therapy." It's a laugh-filled celebration of everybody you know or have ever known with personalities of dozens of characters. It's all brought to life on stage by the comic magic of Steve Solomon. Showtime is at 8 pm and tickets are $20.

Symphony of the Americas-Summerfest 2006, James Brooks-Bruzzese, Artistic Director, presented by American Airlines with the I Musici Estensi Chamber Orchestra will make a special appearance at the Maltz on Wednesday, July 19. Dr. James Brooks-Bruzzese, the international maestro who calls South Florida home, has carried the fine artistic reputation of the Symphony to then great cultural capitals of the world as well as to rural areas, schools and conservatories. I Musici Estensi Orchestra was formed as part of ImmaginArte of Tradate, a musical association based close to Milan. Its aim was to create a primarily string ensemble which would become well known for its quality of interpretation of an extensive repertoire from the Baroque period up to the 1900s. Showtime is 8 pm tickets are $25.

June 19 - 8 pm - Cross Canadian Ragweed; Call it roots Rock, Americana, Alternative Country, Red Dirt, Texas Music, Hick Rock or even Y'alternative - whatever the label you put on it; Cross Canadian Ragweed is doing it. Ragweed is a powerful four-piece combo that has emerged out of the Texas / Oklahoma scene and is poised for success with their new release Highway 377. Like many of the "red dirt renegades" hailing from the Oklahoma flatlands, Ragweed is all about the music. Tickets are $28.

June 26 - 8 pm - Don Vappie and the Creole Jazz Serenaders.  Straight from New Orleans playing just in time to kick-off the hurricane season, Don Vappie and the Creole Jazz Serenaders repertoire includes creole jazz from the early years as well as music from Jelly Roll Morton, King Oliver, Louis Armstrong. Duke Ellington. Tickets are $25 or $60 as part of the JAMS Jazz series.

June 30 - 2 pm & 7 pm - The Frog Prince presented by the Missoula Children's Theatre and the Children's Institute.  It's not easy being green, slimy, and in love! See this children's program, presented by children in the Institute summer camp. Tickets for adults are $10 and for children 12 and under $5.

July 6 - 8pm - Johnny O'Neal has played the part of legendary pianist Art Tatum in the 2004 Academy Award Nominated film "Ray."  Johnny's enormous musical gifts were immediately apparent to jazz icon Ray Brown and led to his 1983 debut album "Coming Out".  Stints with Ray Brown, Milt Jackson and Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers soon followed. Tickets are $25 or $60 as part of the JAMS Jazz series.

July 14-  2 pm & 7 pm - School House Rock, JR.! Presented by the Children's Theatre Institute Theatre Summer Camp students.  Who knew grammar, math, science, and history could be so much fun!  Tickets for adults are $10 and for children 12 and under $5.

July 19 - 8 pm - Symphony of the Americas-Summerfest 2006, James Brooks-Bruzzese, Artistic Director, presented by American Airlines with the I Musici Estensi Chamber Orchestra. Tickets are $25.

July 21 - 2 pm & 7 pm - The Jungle Book presented by the Missoula Children's Theatre and the Children's Institute.   Ever been abandoned in the jungle, adopted by wolves, taught by a bear, befriended by a panther and chased by a tiger? Don't miss this children's program, presented by children in the Institute summer camp. Tickets for adults are $10 and for children 12 and under $5.

August 7 - 8 pm - Harry Allen. Jazz saxophonist, Allen has three CDs which have won Gold Disc Awards from Japan's Swing Journal Magazine, and his CD Tenors Anyone? won both the Gold Disc Award and the New Star Award.  Harry has performed at jazz festivals and clubs worldwide. He has performed with Rosemary Clooney, Ray Brown, Hank Jones, John and Bucky Pizzarelli. Tickets are $25 or $60 as part of the JAMS Jazz series.
