| PB Principal Players present Les Miserables |
|
The Palm Beach Principal Players are pleased to announce their upcoming production of Les Miserables, at the Maltz Jupiter Theater, opening July 5, 2007.
"Les Miz", based on the novel by Victor Hugo, tells the story of a man named Jean Valjean, who spent 19 years in jail for stealing a loaf of bread, and the police inspector who hunts him across 19th century France. Set against the backdrop of the Student Revolution, "Les Miz" is a grand epic; a story of loss, redemption, and love, brought to life by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Shonberg. The student edition is approximately 20 minutes shorter, yet still maintains all of the themes, characters, and content of the full production. "Les Miz" is one of the most successful shows of all times, currently ranked third behind Producer Cameron McIntosh's "Cats", and "Phantom". Additionally, it has spawned more international productions and touring companies than any other show, and currently, it's revival on Broadway is playing to packed houses at the Broadhurst Theater. Fortunately, Florida audiences do not have to make the trek to New York to see this great musical. The Principal Players has assembled a cast from over 10 high schools, colleges, and universities, and as always, has assembled a top-notch professional creative team. Directed by Richard Ribuffo, with Musical Direction by Keri Scarfone, and staging by Matthew Farmer. As always, The Principal Players, as an arm of the Peter Halmos Family Foundation, has targeted groups and organizations within the community as part of an outreach component. In keeping with the themes of the show, Executive Producer Vicki Halmos has announce that the targeted organizations with be those dealing with both hunger and the homeless. As in the past, complementary tickets will be offered to the volunteers and staff of those organizations, in recognition of their work to improve our community, and the lives of those less fortunate. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Box Office, at 561.575.2223 or 800.445.1666. Performances are July 5 through July 8, with performances Thursday through Saturday at 8:00 pm, Sunday at 7:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm. All tickets are $20.00, and seating is reserved.
