The Benjamin Upper School Drama Club Proudly Presents Gershwin’s “CRAZY FOR YOU” April 13 at 7:30 pm and April 14 at 2:00 and 7:30 pm at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre.
The Benjamin Upper School Drama Club invites you to their spring production of “Crazy for You” opening Friday, April 13 at 7:30 pm at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre. An adaptation of the 1930 George and Ira Gershwin “Girl Crazy”, “Crazy for You”, is packed with standards such as “I’ve Got Rhythm,” “Someone to Watch Over Me” and “Embraceable You.” “Crazy for You”, a Tony-winner for best musical in 1992, is the tale of a stage-struck New York City playboy who falls in love with a girl in the Wild West. This new Gershwin musical is full of song and dance, accented by the hilarious dialogue by Ken Ludwig. Mistaken identities, romance, exciting musical numbers and wonderful Gershwin classics add up to irresistible fun for audience members of all ages. Junior, Chase Milner, plays the charming Bobby Child who romances senior, Maddy Apple, as Polly. Senior J.B. Corey plays a hilarious Bela Zangler. You won’t want to miss this production, co-directed by Benjamin faculty Henry Hamilton and Sara Salivar, choreographed by Sara Salivar and musically directed by Chris Douglas. The production staff, talented actors and dancers have worked long hours to produce an engaging and quality show. It will appeal and entertain on many levels through pure theatrical delight, social-political commentary, humor and personal drama. Performances will be held at The Maltz Jupiter Theatre on Friday, April 13 at 7:30 pm and two shows on Saturday, April 14 at 2:00 and 7:30 pm. Reserved tickets can be purchased at the Benjamin Upper School for $10.00. Tickets will also be available at the door ½ hour prior to curtain.
