Jupiter, Fl. (August 17, 2006) - The Maltz Jupiter Theatre today announced its lineup of shows for children and families for the 2006-2007 season. The slate of nine productions offers fairy tale favorites, innovative educational programs and holiday celebrations. The lineup includes an all new Kids Korner series, the theatre's first themed children's series sponsored by Chick-fil-A at the Gardens Mall. Kids Korner will kick-off with the Batty Halloween Bash on October 31 followed by Jack and the Beanstalk, Stone Soup, Cinderella and Hansel and Gretel. Also included is a special holiday presentation Santa's Holiday Revue, a celebration of holiday songs, stories and dances of cultures around the world. Educational programs include Michael Mauldin in an Afternoon with Mark Twain; Mad Science presents "Newton's Revenge, a live show that blends fun antics with interactive science experiments, and Michael Moschen: The Art of Juggling, a Mesmerizing Journey. "We take great pride in our programming for children and families as part of our ongoing commitment to bring the arts to children of all ages, interests and cultures," said Maltz Jupiter Theatre Artistic Director Andrew Kato. "In addition to providing entertainment, quality children's presentations can help develop young imaginations, improve communication and social skills and feed the hunger for arts and culture." Tickets for Kids Korner shows are $12, or $50 for the series; tickets for the educational shows and the Halloween party range from $10-$30. The Maltz Jupiter Theatre opened in February 2004 as a 550-seat, nonprofit community-based regional theater in the former Burt Reynolds Dinner Theatre. The Chick-fil-A at the Gardens Mall Kids Korner Series presents Cinderella Saturday, October 21Join us as the Fairy Godmother takes on the Evil Stepmother to assure Cinderella and Prince Charming are reunited for the happiest of endings in one of the most popular fairy tales ever written. Showtime is 10 a.m. Tickets are $12, or $50 as part of the series. Batty Halloween Bash Tuesday, October 31An afternoon of spooky entertainment with live "bats," food and fun! This is the place to come dressed in costume for a Halloween holiday treat for children ages 12 and under. Showtime is 3 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Mad Science presents "Newton's Revenge" Saturday, November 11Explore the zany side of science in this spectacular live stage show. The interactive experiments and hilarious antics are guaranteed to cause a big commotion about science in motion. The Chick-fil-A Kids at the Gardens Mall Korner Series presents "Hansel & Gretel" Sunday, November 12This story of two lost children who are captured by a wicked old witch in a haunted forest is full of magical charm. Will the youngsters escape to rejoin their loving parents, or will the witch bake them into gingerbread cookies in her magic oven? Showtime is 1 p.m. Tickets are $12, or $50 as part of the series. Michael Moschen: The Art of Juggling, a Mesmerizing Journey Sunday, April 1Incorporating the rich beauty of art, science, physics and mathematics, this MacArthur Fellow has, for the first time, added unique audience participation to his show of creative, fantastic and impossible feats of manipulation and illusion.
