Lighting Supervisor
Pay: $1025/week negotiable, paid bi-weekly. Full-time, seasonal (41 weeks) with full benefits.
The Lighting Supervisor is responsible for implementing the lighting design of Maltz Jupiter Theatre productions. This role must manage, maintain, and operate the Theatre’s performance-related lighting systems and projection equipment, ensuring high quality results for all performances and special events. This role reports to the Director of Production, and works closely with the Production Department, visiting directors and designers, stage managers, and other Theatre staff as necessary.
Responsibilities for this role include:
- Performing maintenance on equipment prior to season show performances
- Maintaining clean and organized storage for all lighting equipment
- Working with show designers to manage lighting load-ins, focus, and budgets
- Loading in lighting/projection equipment according to designers’ needs for each season production
- Coordinating with the Technical Director for timing of set practicals, including construction and installation
- Programming the lighting board during tech rehearsals and running the board through all performances of season productions
- Acquiring consumables for each production and special event, purchasing any lamps, lighting gels, or practicals as needed
- Striking and restoring the lighting system for the next production, special event, or other project
- Coordinating with the Director of Production and the Island Theatre Manager to determine equipment needs and rentals for Limited Engagement performances
- Attending all production meetings
This role will work nights and weekends, according to the Theatre’s performance schedule.
Qualifications: 5 years’ experience. BFA preferred
